The Strategic Management Documentation :

This process results in a document that is the roadmap by which the leadership, staff, partners and others involved in the group use to ensure they are all on the same page about the Vision, role and principles the group holds, the strategic direction the group will move toward (i.e. what the group itself will look like in a specific number of years).

How the group and its stakeholders will get there, milestones to assess the outcomes and impact, responsible parties, and timelines. The document enables all parties involved to be held accountable to make it happen. The document also tells the entity's story for public information, marketing, and relationship building.
